Things don’t always go as planned, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a way to work with what is handed to you. With this beautiful Blue Bell Kitchen, the windows were placed right where the homeowners also wanted to have their kitchen cabinetry. Now, we didn’t want to cover up this natural light, nor did we want to build below the windows so, instead we built around them and incorporated them into the custom cabinet piece.
This was our first project where we built our cabinets to frame windows, and it turned out to be one of our favorites! The cabinetry draws attention to the windows, frames the beautiful kitchen hood, and adds a nice decorative accent to the shaker styled kitchen. The homeowners chose to have their inset cabinetry painted in Benjamin Moore’s Stratton Blue and decorated their shaker doors and drawers with Top Knobs’ Somerset Weston pulls and Dakota knobs in an oil rubbed bronze.
